The Sunshine Fund was created to support Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office employees and their families when unexpected hardship creates a need for a helping hand.
Our law enforcement officers and staff spend their days serving and protecting our community. The Sunshine Fund provides a way for our community to give back to those who are there for us when we need them most.
When an employee or their family faces a difficult or unexpected circumstance, the Brunswick Sheriff’s Charitable Foundation may provide financial assistance to help ease some of the immediate burden. Support is considered on a case-by-case basis and is intended to provide a little sunshine during some of life’s most difficult moments.
How the Sunshine Fund Helps
Donations to the Sunshine Fund have helped provide assistance with needs such as:
- Emergency housing and rent assistance
- Electric and essential household bills
- Temporary lodging for families facing a medical emergency
- Assistance following floods and other natural disasters
- Support following a house fire or other unexpected loss
- Funeral and bereavement expenses
- Other unexpected hardships affecting an employee or their family
Every contribution helps ensure that when one of our Sheriff’s Office families faces a difficult season, they don’t have to face it alone.
